My approach to chiropractic and health has always been to get the body to function the way it was designed to function. Specifically, the body was designed to move. When there are disturbances in the way the body moves problems occur. Back pain, neck pain, headaches, and many other conditions often originate from disturbances in the normal biomechanics (movement) of the spine and its supporting musculature. Often this can cause the nervous system to signal the body to splint (stop the area from moving altogether) the dysfunctional area of the body. As a result we get muscle spasm, swelling, inflammation, pain, and accelerated degeneration.
Chiropractic is a natural way to restore normal function to the body by re-establishing the normal movement to the moveable structures of the body; namely the joints and muscles. Chiropractic adjustments specifically target areas of abnormal movement and remove the restriction to that normal function. Together with massage therapy, and physiological therapeutics (ultrasound, electrical stimulation) we can restore the normal function of the body and remove impediments to motion.
