PHILOSOPHY:
“My approach to chiropractic and health has always been to get the body to function the way it was designed to function. Specifically, the body was designed to move. When there are disturbances in the way the body moves problems occur. Back pain, neck pain, headaches, and many other conditions often originate from disturbances in the normal biomechanics (movement) of the spine and its supporting musculature. Often this can cause the nervous system to signal the body to splint (stop the area from moving altogether) the dysfunctional area of the body. As a result we get muscle spasm, swelling, inflammation, pain, and accelerated degeneration.
Chiropractic is a natural way to restore normal function to the body by re-establishing the normal movement to the moveable structures of the body; namely the joints and muscles. Chiropractic adjustments specifically target areas of abnormal movement and remove the restriction to that normal function. Together with massage therapy, and physiological therapeutics (ultrasound, electrical stimulation) we can restore the normal function of the body and remove impediments to motion.”

After almost 25 years (this June) of Chiropractic solo practice, Keegan Chiropractic is expanding to further serve our patients with the addition of Dr. Jeet Desai, Chiropractic Physician.
Dr. Desai was born in Mumbai, India then emigrated to Toronto, Canada as a child. There he achieved his degree in Life Sciences before seeking his Chiropractic Doctorate at New York Chiropractic College. His chiropractic career began with working at a Veteran’s Facility in Rochester NY. From there he moved to practice in New Jersey, where he met his wife Pooja, a member of the US Armed Services. Together, Pooja and Dr. Desai moved to Tallahassee, Florida, but after spending some time there they realized that the beach life was not for them, so when the opportunity of working with Keegan Chiropractic in Ashburn, VA arose, they jumped at the chance to move back northwards, and are here to stay.
Dr. Desai speaks Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, and of course English. He is currently in the process of picking up Spanish, so be sure to give him a “¡Hola!” when you see him.
Professionally, Dr. Desai is trained in the Graston technique, an Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization method, which will be an asset to our gym rats, weekend warriors, and even our young athletes. Also, he is trained in Webster Technique, a specific technique for pregnant women and recently postpartum Moms.
On a personal note, Dr. Desai loves photography, cycling, and reading. Outside of that his hobbies lie in calligraphy, watching TV shows, and going to the theater to catch the latest movies, be it Hollywood or Bollywood.
We are excited to begin this new era at Keegan Chiropractic, and Dr. Desai is looking forward to meeting and taking care of all of you, the patients in our Keegan Chiropractic family.
